GCVHOA BOARD MEETING (Proposed)
Held February 13, 2006
Prior to the meeting: “Pop-pop the Sealer Man” gave an informational speech on sealing the roads.
President Musumeci opened the meeting at 7:00 PM with the pledge of allegiance. Roll Call: Joe Musumeci, Richard Barrett, Bill Hanson, Mary Hurst, and Glory Schrader all present. Rhonda King, Jim Haley resigned effective immediately.
Reading of minutes: Acting Secretary, Glory Schrader read the January minutes. Motion to approve, by Mary Hurst, 2nd by Richard Barrett, nays none.
Treasurer Report was given by Treasurer Richard Barrett. Operating Account had a balance of $12,263.51. Reserve Account had a balance of $92,381.95. Motion to approve as read by Bill Hanson, 2nd by Mary Hurst, nays — none. Richard Barrett requested to reduce legal expenses, audit and bookkeeping and increase building maintenance/equipment, grounds labor, pool, water and sewer. Motion made by Glory Schrader and, 2nd by Mary Hurst, Nays none.
Old Business:
SBA funds —$31,000 funds are left in the SBA account. The President suggested to seal the roads and correct the water problem on Olivaud, Marinette and Houston. (was there a vote ?)
Committees Reports:
Welcoming Committee — No residents were welcomed
Architectural Committee — Nothing submitted
Code Enforcement Committee — Discussion of cats running loose in the park was addressed. No action taken. Action will be taken after the election if needed.
Documents Committee —Chad stated changes were accepted in the documents.
RV Parking lot — Lights were installed in the RV park. Cost is $20.88 per month and $40.00 to install. The fence was repaired at the cost of $95.00.
Maintenance Committee — Patty Mitchell reported the electrical repairs were made and 4 new lights were installed in the clubhouse and that he will return to repair the exit lights. Sidewalk repairs were tabled until March.
Bocce Ball Court - Committee recommended a concrete court be installed at the cost of $4400.00. Motion was tabled.
Horseshoe Court: The Committee recommended to install one court at the cost of $135.00. Bill motioned to accept, 2nd by Richard Barrett. Nays none.
Election Committee:
Due to the last minute changes, the Election committee stated it was too late for new changes to ballots. Ballots have already been sent out and absentee requests have been received. It is too late to accept nominations for board members, however individuals can advertise in the newsletter that they are running as a write in candidate. (Newsletter deadline Feb 25). Mary Hurst made the motion to accept changes in by-laws the way they were written, Bill Hanson 2nd , nays none. President Musumeci asked if there was anyone who wanted to run as a write in. Jack Fair volunteered to run as Vice President.
Crime Watch Committee: Mr. Fair called into the Sheriff’s office to complain about 4 wheelers making too much noise. No deputy answered the calls. President Musumeci notified the owner of the property of the trespassers and made her aware of the security and safety issues. She will contact the caretaker of the property.
Social Club: Valentine’s Day dinner dance, Auction on the 17th, Las Vegas night is cancelled. Possible outside game day in the spring, and a ring was found in the clubhouse. Patty Mitchell has the ring.
Shuffle Board Courts — Patty stated that the benches by the courts are broken. It will cost $111.00 each for 4 benches. This does not include the price for freight. Richard made the motion with Mary’s second to purchase benches for the courts. Nays — none Jim Koukalis volunteered to pressure wash the courts and then stencil the numbers on.
Cleanup on Houston Ave - Patty Mitchell and Betty Musumeci went to the office of Coastal Landfill. The person in charge stated that they were aware that they were responsible for the clean-up of Houston Ave. and they will try to get volunteers to do this Glory Schrader stated she had talked to the Adopt-A-Road coordinator and she said that the Landfill has to fill out a form every month showing they are in compliance. The phone number to contact her is 727-847-8041. Her name is Rachel Surrency.
New Business:
Resignation letters from Jim Haley and Rhonda King were read. A discussion about a letter that was left on a car parked overnight on Andre. A discussion about a park member doing scheduled maintenance was discussed. A request form to use the clubhouse on April 8th was approved. A complaint on the placement of the paper dumpster was made. A request to edge the Houston Ave grass line was made. President will talk to lawn care personnel.
Motion to close meeting by Bill Hanson, 2nd by Richard Barrett, nays none. Meeting closed at 8:30 PM by President Musumeci.
