GCVHOA BOARD MEETING
 Held April 9, 2007

Call Order by President Dutch Sykes

 

Roll Call: Mary Hurst, Richard Barrett, Joe Musumeci,  John Castiglia, Mary Johnson, Betty Sulikowski, Dutch Sykes were all present. 

 

Minutes of last meeting were read by the secretary and approved by the Board.

 

Reading of the Financial Report – March's financial report was read and approved.  

 

Crime Watch:  On April 3, 2007 there was an attempted break in of the ladies outside bathroom door.  If anyone has a disturbance to report it was suggested that they call Jack Fair, he is the central base for sheriffs Department. 

 

Welcoming:  There were no new property owners this month

 

Code Enforcement:  There were 26 violation letters approved to be sent out

 

Architectural:     there were three approvals for painting flower boxes


 

Maintenance: projects approved were clean up area behind the clubhouse which Tom Wall will be the chairperson.  Several people have volunteered to help.

 

RV Area:  Cleanup is pending due to the damage the lawn mover.

 

Pool Area:  motion was passed to paint pool arcs

 

Social Club: no report this month

 

Old Business

 

Olivaud Flooding:  We need to get estimates from engineers

Andre sign:  Dutch spoke with Pete in regards to this and be agreed that the sign can be put back but no flowers are to be planted

 

Designated Non-Smoking Area:  It has been decided to leave this up to the smokers to please be considerate of the non-smokers.  No Dogs at pool sign was made by Boots.

  

New Business

 

Renew web hosting: A motion was passed to approve the $100 fee for one year hosting of the Great Cypress web site. 

 

Glory Schrader suggested a golf course in the open area next to the pool.  She and Boots will be working on plans for that to be submitted at a later date.

 

Joe said the pool area will be painted this summer after the winter residents leave.

 

The Palm tree situation will be tabled for next meeting the Oak trees will be trimmed John got a couple estimates and a motion was passed to hire a tree trimming company the price quoted was $2,635

 

A motion was made to put a fence around the pool’s electrical system Dutch mentioned that water abuse is not the association’s problem.  Dutch also mentioned we need to form a trustee

Committee which will be addressed at the next meeting.
