GCVHOA BOD MEETING

NOVEMBER 8TH, 2010

 

The meeting was call to order by President Dutch Sykes who led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

ROLL CALL: Present were Larry Frazier, Bob Ayers, Mary Hurst, Beverly True, Dutch Sykes, Glory Schrader and Toni Brunk. There were 40 members present.

STORM WATER MANAGEMENT OF COUNTY PRESENTATION:

Jennifer Sharpels (Commissioned Specialist) gave a presentation on proper drain usage.

She informed us on what should not be put down our drains and if you pollute the water and dump waste you could be fined $500.00. “DO NOT POLLUTE THE WATER” signs are available. Dutch will get the signs and see they are put in the areas needed.

MINUTES OF LAST MEETING: Toni Brunk read the minutes of the last meeting. A motion to approve them was made by Bob Ayers and seconded by Bev True.

FINANCIAL REPORT: Beverly True gave the financial report showing $18,633.71 balance in the operating account, plus a reserve account balance of $37,413.79 and also a $20,000.00 CD showing a balance of $20,247.84.

Total in the reserve is $57,661.63.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

WELCOME: Mary Hurst stated that Bill Humes house is sold. There are three homes listed for sale.

CODE ENFORCEMENT/ARCHITECTURAL: There has been three applications for window approval. All applications were approved by the BOD.

POOL/SPA: Dutch reported there is no warranty on the latest cover. We will continue to use the old cover. It was requested to not remove the rod when uncovering the pool.

RV AREA: There were nothing to report on the RV Area.

SECURITY: The sheriff has given tickets to some five trespassers driving trucks and also roadster bikes. If you hear the noise from these vehicles, please call the sheriff and Jack Fair has requested you call him. He meets the police and takes them back into the area. Dutch stated the sheriff department is very co-operative and want to get this problem resolved.

ELECTION: Brenda Cloukey will take names for election to the BOD.

Dutch Sykes reported if the positions for the BOD is not filled a team management will come in and there would be charge for this service. The membership requested a management team meeting.

Dutch Sykes also read a letter of resignation which was dated October 31st,2010.

OLD BUSINESS:

PAVEMENTS: A contractor will be coming this week for an estimate.

NEW BUSINESS:

PARKING BUMPERS: There was discussion on the removal of the parking lot bumpers which line the sidewalk. The HOA is responsible for the members safety and some injuries have occurred. Several ideas were mentioned and will be brought up again at the December meeting.

CULVERTS ON HOUSTON AND OLIVAUD: The county has approved the repairs needed. The work will be started the last two weeks of November.

It was reported that the retainer pond is inspected every three years. If there is a problem with odor, please call their office.

A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Toni Brunk and seconded by Glory Shrader. The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 pm
