GCVHOA  BOD  MEETING

MAY 10, 2010

 

The meeting was called to order by President Dutch Sykes who led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

 

ROLL CALL:  Present were Dutch Sykes, Mary Hurst, Bob Ayers, Larry Frazier.  Absent were Glory Schrader, Toni Brunk and Beverly True. 

 

MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING:  Dutch read the minutes of the last meeting and two corrections were made; Isabel Miller is also on the welcoming committee and the price for folding chairs is $3.00 instead of $2.00 as read.  A motion to approve the minutes as corrected was made by Bob Ayers and seconded by Mary Hurst.  All approved.

 

FINANCIAL REPORT:  No financial report was given due to the treasurer being away and also the monthly bank statements were not received in time.  Upon the return of the treasurer a report will be finalized and a copy will be posted on the BOD bulletin board.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

WELCOMING:  Mary Hurst reported that 2 new couples were greeted into the community.  They are Edgar & Mary Thompson, 16837 Harley St, and Zeb & Debbie Probst, 16922 Harley St.

 

CODE ENFORCEMENT/ARCHITECTURAL:  Joe Miller reported that  overall the village looked pretty good. With a few exceptions of homes needing power washing, lawns needing cutting, side walks and gutters needing power washing.  He also said the common grounds in some areas need to have sidewalks replaced and trees removed. 

 

MAINTENANCE:   Nothing except that we are awaiting the county’s answer to the lake maintenance man’s  question as to how many carp we can replace.  Also Dutch said he will check with the county  on a catch & release program for our lake.

 

POOL:  Larry will talk to the pool maintenance man regarding the  black algae in the pool.

 

RV AREA:  George quail said that the problem with the RV security system has been corrected and all is secure.

 

DOCUMENTS:  Nothing to report.

 

OLD BUSINESS:  The spa replacement has been started and everyone must be careful around the area so as not to get hurt. The extended roof will be done in the near future, but no specific date is known as of now.  The heater for the spa will be incorporated into the new setup, separate from the pool system.  The entrance sign is still almost complete with the company telling us that they will lighten the sky color ASAP.  The tree in front of 10240 DeKoster Ave. has been removed however the surface roots still need to be removed.  The company has scheduled this for May 11—12, 2010.

NEW BUSINESS:     No new business was discussed.

       

A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Bob Ayers and seconded by Mary Hurst.  The meeting was adjourned at approximately 7:30 pm.
